In 1984 Bishop was awarded United States Coast Guard Commendation Service Metal for his role in restoring Galveston, TX after Hurricane Alicia.
Bishop graduated from the Coast Guard School of Engineering in 1988 and received a Marine Engineering License.
In 1991 Bishop was voted Coast Guardsman of the year by the America in Concert Organization. In the same year he also received Sailor of the Quarter Honors as well.
Houston City Council Chairman, Dale M, Gorczynski, recognized Bishop for outstanding and dedicated community service in the City of Houston.
In 1993 Bishop was given The Commandants Letter of Commendation for outstanding service as the local housing officer in the 8th Coast Guard District.
After a period of chastisement, from God, Bishop answered his call to ministry on August 19, 1993 in Honolulu, HI.
Bishop preached his first sermon under the Pastoral leadership of Dr. S.E. AMOS of The Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.
Bishop was honorably discharged from active duty on March 24, 1996. Bishop received a vision from God to organize a teaching ministry, thus Kingdom Konnection Ministries was born.
Bishop graduated from The Tennessee School of Religion and Theological Seminary in 1999 with Honors.
In 2003, Mayor James Barnett of Freeport, Texas issued a proclamation to Bishop for his Spiritual Leadership in the Freeport Community.
Bishop is married to Elder Mary A. Washington and they are dedicated to serving God in the Community.
